Abstract
Abstract Oxidation of sulfides to sulfoxides with a catalytic amount of ceric ammonium nitrate (CAN) reagent supported on silica gel has been achieved. Stoichiometric sodium bromate is utilized as the primary oxidant to continue the catalytic cycle involving CAN.
