Abstract

Abstract We have developed Friedel–Crafts (FC) sulfonylation of aromatic compounds with methyl p-toluenesulfonate as a sulfonylating precursor. In this procedure, methyl p- toluenesulfonate was treated and activated with pyridine to produce N-methylpyridinium p- toluenesulfonate as a sulfonylation reagent.
