Abstract
Methods based exclusively on organocatalysts have become of major significance in synthetic chemistry.[1] The Michael addition of carbonyl compounds to nitroalkenes [2] is a challenging benchmark for such a development owing to its potential for the construction of a CÀC bond with simultaneous generation of up to three adjacent stereogenic centers and because of the pivotal importance of the nitro group as a precursor to many functionalities. ...
