Abstract

Photo-Fries rearrangements of N-acyl-2, 3-dihydrobenzoxazol-2-ones are described. Irradiation of N-acyl-2-3-dihydrobenzoxazol-2-ones in acetonitrile afforded a mixture of 2- acyl-2, 3-dihydrobenzoxazol-2-one and 6-acyl-2, 3-dihydrobenzoxazol-2-one together with other minor products.
