Abstract

Abstract Zinc Bromide has been observed to detritylate specifically 5′- trityldeoxydeoxynucleosides whereas 3′-trityl ethers are not cleaved. Of additional practical consideration and in contrast to protic acids, no depurination was observed with this reagent.
