Abstract

Abstract Sodium periodate in aqueous organic solvents selectively removes, under mild reaction conditions, the O-(dimethoxytrityl) protecting group. Selectivity of the cleavage was studied using the nucleoside derivatives protected by various types of groups commonly used in nucleoside and nucleotide chemistry.
