Abstract
Sodium salts of dimethylphenyl-, methyldiphenyl-and triphenylsilanols have been prepared in high yields by the action of sodium hydroxide on the corresponding disiloxanes in alcohol solutions. These salts are readily converted to the silanols by mild hydrolysis. Anhydrous trimethylsilanol sodium salt has been prepared in low yield by this process and in higher yields from reactions of sodium oxide or sodamide on the disiloxane. Trimethylsilanol ...
