Abstract

Griseolic acid B 9, a recently discovered nucleoside, has been synthesised using a radical cyclisation as the key step in the formation of the unusual monosaccharide (Scheme 2). 26 The synthesis uses a cyclisation of a vinyl radical 6 onto an alkene.
