Abstract
Results Although 2-phenylbenzimidazoles are usually prepared by condensation of o- phenylenediamines, or their salts, with benzoic acids, esters, or acid chlorides, as well as benzaldehydes or benzonitriles, the method of Tachikawa et al. 13 is useful for the preparation of o-hydroxyphenyl derivatives.
