Abstract

N-Carboxyphenylhydrazido derivatives of glycine, Dbalanine, Dbphenylalanine, Dkleucine, and DL-tyrosine have been prepared by refluxing carboalkoxyamino acid phenylhydrazides with potassium hydroxide in ethanol. The 5-substituted 3-anilinohydantoins were isolated as intermediates in the above reactions.
