Abstract:-Easy, safe, and effective novel methods for preparing either (diacetoxyiodo)- arenes, ArI (OAc) 2, or iodylarenes, ArIO 2, from the corresponding iodoarenes, ArI, using sodium periodate as the oxidant are presented in this paper.
