Abstract

The reduction of 2-nitrofluorene to 2-aminofluorene has been described by both Strasburger'and Diek2 Strasburger carried out the reduction in acid solution by the use of tin and hydrochloric acid; Diels obtained almost quantitative results with zinc and calcium chloride under very nearly neutral conditions.
