Abstract

3258 NEW COMPOUNDS Vol. 71 through the extractor, a total of 300 ml. being employed. The solvent was well dispersed by the stirrer, and rose to form a static layer in the exit arm of the U-tube, from which it drained at the same rate at which Fresh solvcnt was added. Qualitative tests showed no detectable cerium remaining in the water phase. The butyl phosphate ex-tracted bromine as well as cerium.
