Abstract

Abstract 1-Oxo-1 H-pyrrolo [2, 1-c](1, 2, 4)-benzothiadiazine-5, 5-dioxide (I) was prepared by condensation of orthanilamide with maleic anhydride. The preparation of a number of derivatives of the new ring system is described. These are partly interesting as potential diuretics.
