Abstract

Recently we described the nucleophilic addition of aliphatic amines to the carbon-carbon triple bond in diethyl l-alkynylphosphonates 1, 2 giving enamine phosphonates 2 in fair to good yield^.^ Now we wish to report that an acid hydrolysis of 2 produces p- ketophosphonates 3 in cxcellent yields (eq 1).
