Abstract
Summary 1. Maple wood meal has been suspended in dioxane containing 3% sodium hydroxide and hydrogenated over Raney nickel catalyst using an initial pressure of 3000 lb./sq. in. and a temperature of 170'and complete conversion of the lignin portion of the wood into chloroform-soluble products has been effected.
