Abstract

The generation of 2-indolylacyl radicals from the corresponding selenoesters under reductive (tributyltin hydride–AIBN) and nonreductive (hexabutylditin, 300W) conditions and their behaviour in cyclisation reactions upon benzene rings attached either to the indole nitrogen or the C-3 ring position have been studied.
