Abstract
(S)-Serine methyl ester and a range of carboxylic acids RCO2H (R=(η5-C5H4) Fe (η5- C5Ph5),(η5-C5H4) Co (η4-C4Ph4),(η5-C5H4) Fe (η5-C5H5), 1-adamantyl, C6H5) were readily transformed in three steps into (R)-4-hydroxymethyloxazoline N–O ligands containing the R substituent at position 2.
