Abstract
Abstract Three macrocyclic Schiff bases have been synthesized by [2+ 2] condensation of 2, 6-pyridinedicarbaldehyde with 1, 4, 7-triazaheptane, 1, 5, 9-triazanonane and 1, 5- diazapentane. Another Schiff base was synthesized by [1+ 1] condensation of the dicarbaldehyde with 1, 5, 9-triazanonane. They were reduced with NaBH 4 of the corresponding saturated octaaza, hexaaza and tetraaza polyamines.
