Abstract: Reductive elimination of neopentane from cis-[bis (dicyclohexylphosphino) ethane] hydridoneopentylplatinum (11)(1) generates the reactive intermediate [bis ( dicyclohexylphosphino) ethane] platinum (O)(2), which forms cis-[bis ( dicyclohexylphosphino) ethane] hydridophenylplatinum (I1)(3) upon reaction with benzene.
