Abstract

Pyrroles having 3-substituent bearing the vinyl group with an ester or amide spacer were synthesized starting with 1-(phenylsulfonyl) pyrrole. Homopolymerization of the vinyl monomers thus synthesized provided cross-linked insoluble polymers, but their copolymers with 1-vinyl-2-pyrrolidone were soluble in common solvents.
