Abstract: The readily volatile new dithiophosphinic acid (CF3) 2PSzH (mp 14”; bp estd 105”; monomeric, unlike the analogous oxygen compound) has been made by the HzS cleavage of the nonvolatile [(CF3) zPS] zS (presumed), obtained by heating [(CF&P], S with sulfur.
