Abstract

Abstract Bis (trimethylsilyl) bromomethyllithium,(Me 3 Si) 2 CBrLi, reacts with aldehydes to give α-bromovinyltrimethylsilanes, Me 3 SiCBr CHR (both isomers), but with alkyl ketones only proton abstraction from the enolic form of the ketone occurs.
