Abstract
It has been reported1) that the reaction of 3-bromotropolone(I) and sodium phenoxide affords 3-phenoxytropolone(II) and that its phenoxyl group is not hydrolyzed by heating it with concentrated hydrochloric acid, as in diphenyl ether.
