Abstract

Three surface-active 2-pyridinium alkanoates, 2-pyridinium dodecanoate, tetradecanoate, and hexadecanoate, have been synthesized and characterized. Their physical properties investigated include decomposition and Krafft points, pK, of the conjugate acids, and ultraviolet absorption.
