Abstract

The isomerization of certain allylic ethers has been mentioned briefly in the literature. Vinyl allyl ether is converted to vinyl propenyl ether by treatment with metallic sodium or alkoxide iom2 Partial rearrangement of 1-allyloxy-2-propanol is reported by refluxing with potassium hydroxide, and allyloxy end-group unsaturation in polypropylene glycol is isomerized to propenyloxy unsaturation at 100'under basic condition^.^ Also
