Abstract
2. I11 can be converted to IV by shaking with acetic anhydride containing perchloric acid for five minutes at room temperature. When I1 is treated similarly it can be recovered unchanged. I1 can be made to lose acetic acid however, to give IV by heating in acetic anhydride-perchloric acid solution at 50'for fifteen minutes. 3.
