Abstract
Free-Radical Decomposition of Hydroperoxide (I, X= OH) to Bicyclic Ether 11.-Cuprous chloride catalyzes the decomposition of 1, 3, 3-trimethylcyclohexyl hydroperoxide (I, X= OH) to bicyclic ether 11. The only other apparent organic product is the parent alcohol I (X= H). That the reaction is free radical in nature is suggested by the studies of Kochi"'and Kharasch" and is confirmed by the results of studies of the decomposition in the presence ...
