Many B-oarbolines [8, I0], in particular, norharman [8], harman [8, 13], and esters of B- carboline-3-carboxylic acid [9, i0], interact with high affinity with the specific binding sites of benzodiazepine tranquilizers (BD) in membrane fragments of the brain.
