Abstract

A complete series of tea hexaaryldisilanes containing phenyl and p-tolyl groups has been prepared. They were made by coupling a triaryleilylpotorssium compawld with a triarylchlorosilane: by treating a partially chlorinated orgaaodisilane with an organolithium compound; or by coupling a triarylchlorosilane with sodium. Examination of these compounds shows that, in general, as the degree of symmetry of the disilane decreases ...
