Abstract

4-CH30-C, H,-SeR (7) 25 7 60 a The selenide was dissolved in THF and excess (10 equiv) 30% H202 was added. Yields of 1-dodecene were determined by GLC relative to an internal standard. The selenides [R=(CH2) 11CH3] were prepared by treating 1-bromododecane with the corresponding ArSeNa species, prepared in situ by reduction of the diselenide6 (2, 4, 5, 6, 7) or~ elenocyanate~(1, 3) with sodium borohydride in ethanol.
