Abstract
The photochemical 2+ 2 cycloaddition of ketones and aldehydes to the carbon-carbon double bond of alkenes affording oxetanes is one of the earliest reported organic photochemical The reaction was long neglected, as the product oxetanes seemed to be of little interest or value.
