Abstract

218 J. Org. Ch, em., Vol. 42, No. 2, 1977 Adcock and Khor water were added, and stirring was continued for 15 min. One gm of potassium sodium tartrate was then added, and the reaction mixture was filtered. The solid residue was washed several times with ether. The ether was removed, and the product was adsorbed on a 7 X 0.5 cm column of activity I1 alumina. Elution with hexane (20 ml) gave 28 mg (75%) of 4b whose spectral properties ...
