Abstract

Abstract: Tetramethyldisilene, Me2Si= SiMet, was generated from the decomposition of 7, 8- disilabicyclo [2.2. 2] octa-2, 5-dienes4 at 480-500 OC in a flow system in the presence of excess benzaldehyde. The major products are trans-stilbene, hexamethylcyclotrisiloxane, and octamethylcyclotetrasiloxane.
