Abstract

In contrast, radical-based approaches to the synthesis of such 1,5-dicarbonyl compounds have not been as extensively explored as their ionic counterparts. Radical reactions are able to proceed in the absence of strong basic or acidic conditions and should therefore be better suited for acid- or base-sensitive functionalities.
