Abstract

The seed oil of Acanthosyris spinescens contains three previously unknown hydroxyacetylenic fatty acids. These are shown to be 7-hydroxy-trans-l0, 16-heptadecadien- 8-ynoic acid (Ia), 9%; &hydroxy-trans-11, 17-oct adecadien-9-ynoic acid, 4%; and 7-hydroxy- trans-10-heptadecen-8-ynoic acid, 6%.
