Abstract
NOTES J. Org. Chem., Vol. $7, No. 18, 1972 2897 subsequent hydrolysis of the ketal gave bicyclo [3.2. 1]-oct-6-en-Zone (8) directly. The overall yield of 8 from 2 was 16.3%, under conditions which involved the isolation of pure intermediates at each stage. 6 The ketone 8 has not been described previously, and its homoconjugated nature is apparent from the ultraviolet spectrum [A, 212 nm (e 3600) and 299 (180) in isooctane] which clearly shows ...
