Abstract

Abstract The bicyclic hydridophosphorane 3 reacted with a series of alcohols in the presence of phenyl disulfide to give the corresponding isolable alkoxyphosphoranes. The reactivities of the alcohols in this reaction were seen to be dependent on the steric hindrance of the R groups. The mechanism was suggested in terms of experimental observation.
