Abstract
Optically pure (R)-arylmethylsuccinic acid mono-methyl esters were obtained efficiently by using the catalytic asymmetric hydrogenation of arylidenesuccinic acid monoesters with a rhodium (I) complex of a chiral bisphosphine,(4S, 5S)-MOD-DIOP.
