Abstract
The first total synthesis of the naturally derived second generation anthracycline, 11-deoxydaunomycin ( ) is described. Key steps in the synthesis of include an efficient construction of α-hydroxy methyl ketone moiety at C 9 -position, a highly stereoselective synthesis of -C 7, 9 -diol, and the first successful use of C 13 -acetal derivative for the glycosidation. ...
