Abstract

The metal-catalyzed transfer of a carbene unit, :CR 1 R 2 , from diazo compounds N 2 CR 1 R 2 has been extensively studied during the last few decades. 1 The main transformations involving this fragment have centered on its addition to unsaturated bonds or, alternatively, its insertion into saturated X−H bonds.
