Abstract
In a few instances for reactions with cyclohexanone, an additional unidentified compound was observed. This compound was cleanly converted to the alkenylsilane upon heating to 100 "C for 2 h. Although apparently an in- termediate, the 13C NMR data is not consistent with the anticipated 0-hydroxy silane intermediate.lg Work is currently in progress to identify this intermediate and to study the conditions under which it may be isolated re- producibly.
