Abstract
The conversion of a CH bond to C-OH, while carried out routinely in nature by a variety of enzymes, I has not so far found wide application in organic synthesis. Much effort has been devoted to developing reagents for this purpose; in particular, the hydroxylation of CH bonds remote from functional groups is a challenging goal and the object of continuing interest.
