Abstract
The anionic reactivity of (Lig>M+)Y- complexes of alkali and alkaline-earth metal salts with lipophilic polyether ligands (crown ethers, cryptands, podands) is particularly high in weakly polar In fact, in these media, the anion Y- is considerably activated due to the low interaction with the bulky complexed cation (Lig>M+) and weak stabilization by the solvent.
