Abstract

For further investigation into both bioactivity and synthetic methodology, our group has developed a novel and practical synthetic approach for 1,6-dideoxynojirimycin from relatively inexpensive and accessible l-sorbose. With the fixed chiral centers of the starting material and the almost quantitative stereoselectivity in the reductive amination step, 6a the enantiochemistry of this approach is fully guaranteed. ...
