Understanding the binding specificity for carbohydrate-lectin recognition events(1) encompasses the intricate details associated with a cascade of biological events(2) that occur during molecular recognition as well as lectin-prompted drug delivery.(3) Carbohydrate-lectin interactions display extremely low affinity (dissociation constants 10 –6 –10 –7 M).
