Abstract

Abstract Highly regioselective oxygen transfer from nitro groups to C≡ C bonds has been achieved by employment of iodine monochloride or molecular iodine. The precursors are heterocyclic, aromatic or acyclic compounds, each bearing a nitro group ortho to an internal alkyne.
