Abstract Efficient ditopic receptor, uranyl (II) N, N'-(ethylenedioxy) benzenebis (salicylideneimine)(3) for beryllium ion has been obtained upon functionalization of 1, 2- ethylenedioxybenzene (1) with a uranyl-salphen (salphen= N, N'-phenylenebis (salicylideneimine)) unit.
