Abstract
The Friedel–Crafts reaction of methyl alkyl-and arylsulfinates with aromatic systems, activated by one or more electron-donating substituents (OH, OMe, NHR, NR2), provides alkyl aryl and diaryl sulfoxides under mild conditions and in moderate to good yields.
