Abstract
The study of the behavior in the Pfitzinger reaction of mixed ketones, containing two methylene groups adjacent to the carbonyl function, has been extended to a series of cyclohexane alkanones, CeH11CH2CHzCO-R. Except for the first member of the series, only the a-methylene group of the unsubstituted alkyl of these ketones was found to participate in this reaction.
